Third Graders had the privilege to have Dr. Meg Eckles (@Doc_Eckles) share with us her bee expertise. Students learned how flowers attract specific pollinators with unique physical features. Third Graders then designed a flower that incorporated structural traits that function to attract a pollinator of their choice. Many students chose to create a flower that related to their personal research on pollination.
In Science, students began to write informative texts to convey the purpose of their flowers. In our third grade classes, students provided constructive and appropriate critique to their peers’ artist’s statements. Third Graders then incorporated peer feedback into their statements to convey a high quality message.
